Thank You Parkview Transit & Simcoe Coach Lines
On Monday, November 26th, Parkview Transit & Simcoe Coach Lines rolled up to our office in a big yellow school bus and dropped off a busload of donated coats for our annual Coats for Kids Drive!
In the spirit of the season, over 500 local drivers collected gently used and new coats to help keep kids in our community warm this winter.
We want to thank Parkview Transit & Simcoe Coach Lines for their generosity and support of our Coats for Kids Drive!
Register now for the KICK Winter Sessions!
KICK (Kids in the Community Kitchen) is a free, fun, and informal after-school program that teaches kids about food preparation, cooking skills, the Canada’s Food Guide, and meal planning. Each session includes tasty food, fun games, and activities about food, nutrition, and being active. The program is delivered by our Registered Dietitian with the help of local youth volunteers, and is made possible by a grant from The Baxter International Foundation.
The KICK After-School Winter Sessions start January 4, 2010 and includes a new March Break Camp!
For more information and to register your child, please click here to visit our KICK Program Page.
Free Children Winter Coats Now Available
Thanks to the amazing response to our Coats for Kids Drive from local residents, businesses, schools, and churches, we have received a wide range of donated children’s winter coats, mitts, hats, and other winter articles for those in need in our community – and the donations keep coming in!
We are now encouraging local residents and families who are in need of winter coats for their children to drop by our main office and pickup what they need.
From now until December 18, winter coats can be picked up between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, at CONTACT, Community Service Centre South Simcoe, Town Square, 39 Victoria Street East, Alliston.
For those who cannot drop by during the weekday, two new pickup dates have been added on Saturday, December 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and Wednesday, Decmeber 9 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the same location.
